Every tradesperson on GetBuilder goes through our verification process:

  • Identity verification (KYC): Government ID and address confirmation
  • Business verification: Company registration checks where applicable
  • Insurance checks: Public liability insurance verification
  • Qualification review: Trade certifications and qualifications

Honest Review System

Our review system is designed to be fair and transparent:

  • Only verified homeowners who've hired a tradesperson can leave reviews
  • Reviews cannot be deleted or hidden by tradespeople
  • Tradespeople can respond publicly to feedback
  • We investigate suspicious review patterns

Quality Standards

We maintain high quality standards on our platform:

  • 4-star minimum rating: Tradespeople must maintain at least a 4-star average
  • Consistent poor performance leads to removal from the platform
  • We regularly audit profiles for accuracy
  • Fake reviews or profiles are immediately removed

Reporting Concerns

If something doesn't seem right, we want to know. You can report:

  • Suspicious or fraudulent behaviour
  • Harassment or inappropriate conduct
  • Poor quality work or disputes
  • Inaccurate profile information
  • Attempts to work outside the platform

Report concerns through our contact page. We respond to all reports within 1 hour.

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between a homeowner and tradesperson:

  • We encourage direct communication first
  • Our support team can mediate if needed
  • We review all evidence from both parties
  • Serious breaches may result in account suspension

  • Check reviews and ratings before hiring
  • Get written quotes before work begins
  • Never pay the full amount upfront
  • Keep all communication on the platform

For Tradespeople:

  • Verify job details before quoting
  • Document work with photos
